- Support children’s developmental growth through early literacy, mathematics, sensory activities, creative play, and social interaction.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, designated playtime, and daily transitions.
- Assist with diaper changes, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and safe classroom environment throughout the day.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting of classroom surfaces, toys, tables, chairs, and childcare equipment.

- Observe children’s developmental progress and communicate concerns to the appropriate classroom staff or administrator.
- Provide additional support to children with varying developmental needs and abilities.
- Follow all childcare center policies, procedures, licensing regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with classroom staff to ensure daily routines and responsibilities are completed efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility, preschool, or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of child development, age-appropriate activities, and positive behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and developmental stages.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, patient, and able to take initiative without constant supervision.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Willingness to assist with both classroom instruction and daily cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented childcare environment.
- Must meet all applicable Pennsylvania childcare licensing and staff qualification requirements.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain required background clearances, health and safety training, mandated reporter training, and pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
