Part time Tour Guide

Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sharing information about our local attractions and history while providing an engaging experience for visitors. As a Tour Guide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the visitor experience through effective communication and storytelling. The tours are 2 hrs long. Plus tips. This is a part time position so expect a few tours per week.

Duties

• Conduct guided tours of various attractions, providing insightful commentary and engaging narratives.
• Educate visitors about the historical, cultural, and social significance of the sites being visited.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all tour participants throughout the duration of the tour.
• Manage time effectively to adhere to scheduled tour itineraries while allowing for questions and interactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing visitor inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Utilize public speaking skills to maintain audience engagement and interest during tours.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance tour offerings and improve visitor experiences.
• Maintain knowledge of current events, local attractions, and any changes in tour routes or policies.

Experience

• Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred, particularly in hospitality or tourism.
• Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to cater to a wider audience.
• Proven leadership skills to guide groups confidently and manage various dynamics during tours.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure tours run smoothly and on schedule.
• A genuine interest in educating others about local history, culture, and attractions.
