Part-time Tutor (Primary/Secondary School)

About the role

Language Canvas is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Part-time Tutors to join our teaching team in Tai Po, Tai Po District. This is a part-time position offering flexible working arrangements, making it ideal for educators looking to expand their tutoring portfolio or those seeking supplementary work alongside other commitments.

As a Part-time Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic progress and building their confidence in their studies. You will work directly with primary and secondary school students, delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs and helping them achieve their educational goals.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering high-quality tutoring sessions to primary and secondary school students across various subjects
• Assessing students' current academic levels and identifying areas for improvement
• Creating structured lesson plans and customised learning materials aligned with school curricula
• Providing constructive feedback to students and monitoring their academic progress over time
• Adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and pace of individual students
• Communicating regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas of focus
• Preparing students for examinations and assessments where applicable
• Maintaining detailed records of student attendance, progress and achievements

What we're looking for

• A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent educational background in your subject area(s)
• Proven experience tutoring or teaching primary and/or secondary school students
• Strong subject knowledge across one or more curriculum areas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule flexibly
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and planning
• A commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
• Experience with online tutoring platforms or digital learning tools (preferred)
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are highly valued
