Part-Time Van Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Church Custodian and Van Driver to maintain a clean, welcoming environment and provide reliable transportation for church activities and school trips and afterschool. This vital role combines custodial responsibilities with safe and efficient driving to support the daily operations and community outreach of our church. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a positive atmosphere for staff, members, and visitors alike.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning and janitorial tasks throughout the church facilities, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to ensure a spotless environment.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain the appearance and safety of all flooring surfaces.
• Assist with custodial maintenance tasks like minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and general facilities upkeep to support a well-maintained space.
• Operate church vans or other designated vehicles safely to transport members, staff, or supplies to various locations as needed for church events or outreach programs.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to guarantee safety and proper functioning before each trip.
• Follow all safety protocols during custodial work and driving duties, adhering to traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and vehicle fuel levels, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services, with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices.
• Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, or carpet cleaning.
• Strong skills in facilities maintenance, including minor repairs or painting projects.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; prior porter or van driving experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and equipment is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability in completing assigned tasks on time. Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
