Synergy Veterinary Specialists is looking for a part-time veterinary technician or experienced veterinary assistant to join our surgical team.

A Different Approach to Mobile Surgery

Synergy provides a boutique, comprehensive surgical service for a select group of partner veterinary hospitals. By intentionally partnering with a smaller number of hospitals, we are able to provide a highly personalized service, build strong relationships with their teams, and remain involved throughout the entire surgical experience.

Our involvement begins with the initial surgical consultation and continues through surgical planning, the procedure itself, postoperative care, communication with the owner and primary care veterinary team, and the final recheck.

Our goal is to combine the expertise of specialty surgery with the continuity, communication, and relationships of primary care medicine.

Because we work as a small, closely coordinated team, efficiency is important—but never at the expense of patient care. We value preparation, organization, anticipation, and thoughtful systems that allow us to provide an exceptional level of care while keeping the surgical day running smoothly.

As a member of our team, you will travel with us to different partner hospitals and work closely with a veterinary surgical specialist throughout the entire surgical process. You won't simply be assisting with procedures—you will become an integral part of how we care for our patients, clients, and partner hospitals.

• Takes initiative, anticipates the surgeon’s needs, and recognizes what needs to happen next to keep the team working smoothly
• Communicates professionally with clients, veterinarians, and hospital teams
• Is comfortable working in different veterinary hospitals throughout the week

Experience is important, but attitude, reliability, common sense, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to learn are equally important to us.

Responsibilities

• Patient handling and assisting with surgical consultations
• Patient preparation and surgical setup
• Surgical and scrub assisting
• Instrument care, pack preparation, sterilization, and sterility assurance
• Inventory management
• Assisting with postoperative care and follow-up
• Written, verbal, and email communication with clients and veterinary teams
• Helping maintain an organized and efficient surgical service

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday
• Approximately 18–32 hours per week
• Generally finished by approximately 4 PM, sometimes earlier
• No weekends
• No on-call responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

Starting compensation based on experience and demonstrated skill level:

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant: $18–$24/hour
• Credentialed/Licensed Veterinary Technician: $26–$30/hour
