Part time work in cafe

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team for part-time summer work at our busy café. The position is ideal for students or those looking for flexible summer employment, with shifts primarily during daytime hours. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to our guests while supporting the daily operations of the café.

Duties

• Taking orders from customers and serving food and beverages with professionalism and friendliness
• Preparing simple food items and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
• Handling cash transactions accurately and operating point-of-sale systems
• Assisting with stock replenishment and inventory management
• Upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
• Providing excellent guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and courteously
• Ensuring food safety procedures are followed at all times to maintain hygiene standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food preparation skills are advantageous
• Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when engaging with guests
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
• Experience in serving, food preparation, or culinary roles is a plus but not mandatory
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and team spirit are essential for success in this role

Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
