Job Title: Cook / ChefJob Summary

A Cook/Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality meals, ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly, and maintaining food safety standards. They work as part of a team to deliver consistent, delicious dishes while keeping the kitchen clean and organised.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
• Ensure food is presented attractively and meets quality expectations
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
• Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP)
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients
• Store food properly and minimise waste
• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and communicate effectively
• Assist in menu planning and development (for more senior roles)
• Train or supervise junior staff (Chef roles)

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment (level depends on role)
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Good teamwork and communication
• Creativity and attention to detail (especially for chefs)
• Culinary qualifications (preferred but not always required)

Working Conditions

• Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Standing for long periods and handling kitchen equipment

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: £10.00-£14.00 per hour
