What they need

Golf New Zealand is looking for an energetic, relationship-focused Participation Coordinator to grow participation across the Tasman district. Competitive salary + company car + phone plan + health insurance.

About the role

Based in Nelson, you’ll work alongside Tasman Golf, clubs, facilities and coaching professionals to deliver welcoming, quality golf opportunities across the region. The district spans Nelson, Marlborough, Kaikōura and the West Coast, with 26 affiliated clubs and strong growth in junior golf.

You’ll support the development and delivery of Golf New Zealand participation programmes including She Loves Golf, Futures, Girls’ Golf and All Abilities, while developing initiatives that connect young people, women and girls, and casual players with the game.

What you’ll do

  • Build strong relationships with clubs, facilities, coaches and community partners.
  • Coordinate and support participation programmes in schools, communities and clubs.
  • Develop local initiatives that help more people take part and support club growth.
  • Connect with regional staff, Tasman Golf and Golf New Zealand’s Participation team.
  • Assist with programme budgets, administration, marketing and digital engagement.
  • Contribute to projects that support participation and the wider golf sector.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be organised, energetic and confident working with a wide range of people. You’ll be able to manage your time, work independently and contribute positively to a team.

Experience delivering sport or recreation programmes would be valuable, as would knowledge of golf and participant development. A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable. We’re also looking for someone who is keen to learn, build their skills and represent golf well across the region.

This role involves significant travel across the district, including evening and weekend work.

What Golf New Zealand can offer

  • Professional development, training and a personal development plan.
  • Career progression opportunities.
  • A competitive remuneration package.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Being a part of a supportive national and regional based team.
  • The chance to contribute to a growing sport and make a difference in communities across Tasman.

Golf New Zealand is committed to creating safe, welcoming environments for everyone, especially children and young people.
