What they need

Partner – Trust & Fiduciary Services

Location: British Virgin Islands (BVI)

Relocation: Long-term commitment

Role Overview

A senior leadership opportunity within an established trust and fiduciary services business in the British Virgin Islands. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the oversight of client relationships, fiduciary administration and team performance, ensuring the effective management of client structures and portfolios within a robust governance and risk framework.

This position is suited to an experienced trust and fiduciary professional who combines strong technical knowledge, sound commercial judgement and proven leadership capability. The emphasis is on client service, portfolio oversight, technical quality and team leadership rather than business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of trust and fiduciary clients, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, technically sound administration service.
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with clients, families, intermediaries and other professional advisers.
  • Review client financial information, accounts and portfolio documentation as part of ongoing fiduciary administration and oversight.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to trust administration teams, maintaining appropriate standards of service, accountability and technical quality.
  • Oversee complex fiduciary matters, ensuring appropriate governance, risk management and escalation of issues.
  • Support the effective management of client structures, including the review of financial information and the identification of potential risks or areas requiring further investigation.
  • Maintain strong fiduciary standards and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with risk and compliance colleagues to support effective oversight, control frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the fiduciary team, promoting technical excellence, consistency and a strong client-service culture.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

  • A professional accountancy qualification, preferably Chartered Accountant, supported by substantial experience in trust and fiduciary services.
  • Extensive experience within a trust company, with direct responsibility for client-facing fiduciary administration.
  • A proven track record of operating at Director, Partner or equivalent senior leadership level.
  • Strong technical capability in reviewing client financial statements, accounts and related portfolio information within a fiduciary administration environment.
  • Experience overseeing client relationships, complex structures and the performance of administration teams.
  • A strong understanding of fiduciary governance, risk management and regulatory obligations.
  • Experience in risk and compliance oversight would be advantageous.
  • Existing BVI experience would be highly desirable, particularly where accompanied by relevant regulatory approval or authorisation. Experience in the Channel Islands, Cayman Islands, Bermuda or Switzerland would also be relevant.

Relocation and Long-Term Commitment

This appointment is intended for a professional seeking a long-term move to the British Virgin Islands, ideally with a commitment of ten years or more.

Candidates should have a realistic and considered approach to relocation, including family circumstances, schooling where applicable, work-permit requirements and the practicalities of establishing a long-term home in the jurisdiction.
