About the role
 
Our client is a highly regarded full-service law firm with a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional legal advice across the commercial and private client sectors. Due to strategic growth, an outstanding opportunity has arisen for a senior immigration lawyer to lead and expand an established immigration practice.
  
This is far more than a traditional Partner role. You'll inherit an existing practice with quality clients, an experienced team and a strong internal referral network, while enjoying the autonomy and support to drive its next phase of growth.
  
Working alongside a collaborative partnership, you'll play a key role in shaping strategy, growing market share and strengthening the firm's position as a leader in immigration law.
  
The Opportunity
 
You will lead a well-established practice advising corporate, investor and private clients across the full spectrum of immigration matters, including:

• Active Investor Plus and investor migration
• Employer Accreditation and AEWV
• Residence and work visa pathways
• Family and partnership applications
• Complex immigration matters, compliance and appeals

You'll mentor and develop an experienced team, oversee practice performance, strengthen existing client relationships and generate new opportunities through your own networks and the firm's extensive cross-referral platform.

About You
You will be an experienced immigration lawyer who enjoys building trusted client relationships and leading high-performing teams.
You'll bring:

• Admission as a lawyer in New Zealand with a current NZ practising certificate
• Approximately 8+ years' PQE specialising in immigration law
• Deep technical expertise across investor immigration, employer accreditation, work and residence pathways, and complex immigration matters
• A successful track record of developing client relationships and generating new business
• Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring lawyers and building engaged teams
• Commercial acumen with the ability to manage practice performance while delivering outstanding client outcomes
• A collaborative approach and genuine desire to contribute to the wider success of the firm
