What they need

Partner Tutor – Physics (SPM)
Mastermind Tutor

About Mastermind Tutor

Mastermind Tutor provides personalised education through a professionally managed tutoring platform. Our service combines dedicated academic guidance, structured learning objectives, and progress monitoring to deliver a high standard of support for students and families.

We are inviting academically strong, dependable individuals to join our network as Physics Partner Tutors. This role requires subject expertise, clear teaching, and the discipline to translate each session into purposeful, measurable learning.

The Role

As a Physics Partner Tutor, you will help students understand physical principles, develop systematic problem-solving skills, and apply concepts confidently to examination questions and real-world situations.

You will work within Mastermind Tutor’s academic framework, supported by teaching guidelines and student-specific learning objectives. Professional conduct, preparation, and consistent follow-through are central to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver well-prepared SPM Physics lessons through assigned 1-to-1 or small-group sessions, online or in person.
  • Explain physical concepts, laws, and relationships clearly, using appropriate diagrams, demonstrations, and practical examples.
  • Guide students in selecting suitable formulae, rearranging equations, and presenting calculations with correct units and logical working.
  • Develop students’ ability to interpret graphs, analyse experimental data, and explain observations using accurate scientific reasoning.
  • Identify misconceptions and mathematical gaps that affect understanding, adapting teaching to each student’s learning needs.
  • Fulfil assigned learning objectives and assess understanding through focused questioning and structured practice.
  • Prepare or adapt learning materials in accordance with Mastermind Tutor’s academic direction.
  • Assign purposeful practice, review corrections, and reinforce areas that have yet to be mastered.
  • Submit a session report after every lesson, documenting learning outcomes, assessment results, and required follow-up.
  • Maintain punctuality, reliable attendance, and professional communication through designated Mastermind Tutor channels.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or a relevant discipline, including Applied Physics, Engineering, or Education with a Physics specialisation.
  • A minimum grade of A− in SPM Physics, supported by an official results certificate.
  • Strong command of SPM Physics and the ability to explain the reasoning behind concepts, formulae, and problem-solving methods.
  • Sound mathematical skills and the ability to guide students through calculations clearly and systematically.
  • Effective communication skills, with a patient and structured approach to teaching.
  • A professional attitude, sound preparation, and consistent fulfilment of agreed assignments.
  • Willingness to follow academic guidelines, respond constructively to feedback, and maintain accurate session records.
  • Availability to commit to tutoring assignments for a minimum of three months.

Fresh graduates who meet these requirements and demonstrate strong teaching potential are welcome to apply.

Academic Support and Professional Development

Partner Tutors receive onboarding guidance, clear teaching expectations, and academic support throughout their assignments.

Our structured development pathway recognises teaching effectiveness, student progress, reliability, and professional conduct. Consistent performance may lead to additional assignments and broader academic responsibilities, subject to suitability and student needs.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview and teaching evaluation. Selection considers academic credentials, clarity of explanation, teaching judgement, and readiness to uphold Mastermind Tutor’s service standards.
