Partnership Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Partnership Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities

• Manage partnership-related financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and schedules related to partnership activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure compliance with internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
• Oversee regulatory compliance accounting for programs like LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and other government-funded initiatives.
• Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, and other enterprise systems to record, track, and analyze financial data efficiently.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budget forecasting, and variance reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing best practices in non-profit accounting, technical accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills including data analysis tools like VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheet modeling.
• Experience with regulatory compliance accounting frameworks such as SOX and securities law.
• Expertise in nonprofit accounting practices along with familiarity with governmental accounting standards.
• Ability to interpret complex financial concepts related to Wills, Trusts & Estate Law when applicable to organizational assets or legal considerations.
• Demonstrated experience in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and technical accounting documentation.
• Excellent analytical skills for account reconciliation, journal entries creation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance principles including budgeting, forecasting, accrual accounting, and cash flow management.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
