Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to support kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment by following sanitation standards and cleaning schedules.
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting with tray removal to ensure a clean dining environment.
• Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting of dishware and supplies while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety.
• Follow all food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Assist in maintaining overall kitchen health and safety standards by reporting hazards and ensuring proper storage of food items.

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued.
• Familiarity with food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen equipment operation is advantageous.
• Basic knife skills and understanding of culinary processes are a plus for supporting food prep tasks.
• Experience with dishwashing or general kitchen cleaning duties demonstrates reliability in maintaining hygiene standards.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation procedures ensures compliance with health regulations.
• Prior banquet or catering experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory; willingness to learn is key.
