Party Chief

As a Party Chief at BMS Offshore, you lead the offshore survey crew and oversee the full scope of survey operations at sea.

You are responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of all acquired data, while coordinating daily activities and maintaining clear communication between the client, vessel crew, and onshore project management.

This role combines strong technical insight with leadership in an offshore setting. You make operational decisions, manage the survey team, and troubleshoot technical issues in real time to ensure the project runs safely, smoothly, and to specification.

While direct administrative work is limited, you are responsible for reporting, data validation, and maintaining alignment across stakeholders. The role offers a high level of autonomy, hands-on involvement, and opportunities for continued professional growth in offshore survey and positioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate survey operations on board;
• Oversee mobilizations, calibrations and data acquisition;
• Ensure quality control of all delivered data and reports;
• Lead a team of surveyors, data processors and technicians;
• Interface with project teams and clients to communicate progress and findings;
• Maintain QHSE standards and documentation.

Must Have

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering;
• Extensive experience in offshore survey operations;
• Leaderships and experience managing survey software and positioning systems;
• Fluent in English;
• Good communication and reporting skills;

Nice to have

• Experience with extending offshore operations;
• Understanding survey methods.
