We are seeking part-time Passenger Operators to work 20 hours each week Monday to Friday with the potential to pick up extra shifts by mutual agreement.

What is in it for me? We have a great team who enjoy their work and are proud of the important role they play every day as we connect Wellingtonians to work, school, home and play. As one of our team of over 420 dedicated Journey Makers you will be rewarded with highly competitive remuneration, opportunities for training and career progression, and a wide range of employee benefits including free and discounted rail and ferry travel

What skills or experience would I need to be successful?

  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and safety: Ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers is at the forefront of your mind everyday.
  • Genuine passion for customer service: You thrive on providing exceptional service and support to our customers. With a busy and dynamic role, you're always ready to assist with any inquiries or challenges they may have.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities: When faced with unexpected situations, your calm demeanour and problem-solving skills shine through. You understand that our customers rely on us for assistance, and your ability to think on your feet and remain empathetic makes all the difference.
  • Tech-savy: You're comfortable using smartphones as part of your role, and your numeracy skills help with counting passenger numbers and handling fares tasks.
  • You are fit, healthy, reliable and conscientious
