Position Title: Prep Cook / Utility

CORE JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Prep Cook / Utility prepares ingredients according to kitchen prep procedures and assists with maintaining kitchen organization and sanitation.

This role includes washing, cutting, portioning, labeling, and storing ingredients as directed by the Head Chef or Assistant Chef.

The Prep Cook also supports kitchen operations by assisting with dishwashing, cleaning tasks, and maintaining the overall organization of the kitchen.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OPERATIONAL DUTIES
Ingredient Preparation

The Prep Cook prepares vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients according to the kitchen’s preparation procedures.

Food Labeling and StorageThe Prep Cook must ensure that all prepared ingredients are properly labeled and stored.

Kitchen Support During ServiceDuring service, the Prep Cook supports kitchen stations by preparing additional ingredients when needed and assisting with restocking items used during service.

Dishwashing and SanitationThe Prep Cook assists with dishwashing and cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen sanitation.

Kitchen Organization and CleaningThe Prep Cook is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITYDue to the nature of restaurant operations, the Prep Cook / Utility may be assigned additional duties necessary to support kitchen operations.

These duties may include assisting other kitchen stations, performing additional cleaning tasks, or supporting food preparation as directed by management.
