About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Pastry Assistant to join our team at Dean & DeLuca BGC. This role supports the Pastry Chef in preparation, production, and presentation of baked goods, ensuring quality standards and compliance with food safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in pastry preparation, production, and presentation activities.
- Ensure products meet company quality standards before release.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with sanitation/health regulations.
- Monitor supplies and equipment, reporting issues to the Pastry Chef.
- Record food spoilage and prepare market lists based on daily orders.
- Scale, mix, and bake cake batters, buttercreams, pastry creams, and other desserts.
- Manage pastry station for optimum production and efficiency.
- Contribute to cost control and inventory management.
About you
- Experience in a bakeshop or commissary preferred.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Pleasing personality and strong teamwork skills.
- Willing to be trained in BGC.
- Can start immediately.
