Pastry Baker

$20–$24/hour, depending on experience

MIX The Bakery has been baking from scratch in West Point Grey since 2003. We’re a neighbourhood bakery and café that also supplies wholesale accounts and caters events across Vancouver. We’re looking for a pastry baker to join our team, with full-time and part-time positions available.

What you’ll do

• Make our daily pastries, cookies, loaf cakes, tarts, and other baked goods from scratch
• Mix, laminate, shape, and bake doughs and batters
• Make custom and celebration cakes, jarred desserts, and dessert-table items for catering
• Fill wholesale orders on time and to spec
• Follow recipes, scaling, and portioning so every batch is consistent
• Help create seasonal and holiday items
• Keep the bakery clean and organized and follow food safety and allergen procedures

What we’re looking for

• At least 1–2 years of experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen
• Baking and pastry training is an asset but not required
• Good understanding of doughs, creams, fillings, and basic cake work. Decorating skills are a bonus
• FOODSAFE Level 1 (or willing to get it)
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently during high-volume production
• Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
• Comfortable with early mornings. Weekend availability is an asset
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
