Pastry Chef

Department: Pastry / Bakery Plan, prepare, and present high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while ensuring consistency, creativity, food safety, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Prepare, bake, and present a diverse range of pastries, cakes, breads, and confections.
• Ensure uniformity in quality, flavor, portioning, and aesthetic presentation.
• Develop new recipes and seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with senior chefs.
• Uphold strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP/FSSAI).
• Manage production schedules, mise-en-place, and inventory for the pastry section.
• Control food costs and reduce wastage through proper storage and portioning.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior pastry staff and Commis Chefs.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to meet service and special event requirements.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of specialized pastry equipment.
• Education: Diploma/Degree in Pastry Arts, Bakery, or Culinary Arts.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years in a professional kitchen or high-end bakery.
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of baking techniques and dessert plating.
• Compliance: Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen SOPs.
• Attributes: Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong leadership and communication skills.
