What they need
Blanchflower Bakery & Kitchen is looking for an artisan baker with a minimum of 1 years professional baking experience. Our salary offer is around £13.5 ph depending on experience and skill set BUT our bakery employees share substantial tips with the other Blanchflower team members (currently between 3 and 4k per annum!!!).
We make sourdough, focaccia daily and bread baking experience is essential and you will be required to help with making our range of cakes (training will be provided).
Our bakery supplies 4 cafes; the 2 big Blanchflowers in Altrincham and Sale, and our two coffee and baked goods cafes in Stretford's lovely Longford Park and at The Trafford Centre. We are Greater Manchester's largest in-house bakery as our cafes serve well over 250 covers between them.
This is a 36 hr pw contract with weeks either being 4 x 9 hr days or 5 x 8hr days when one of the other team members is away. You would be part of a bakery team of 5.
This position allows for creative input and new product development within our collaborative team and requires a good team player with an interest in the wider business. We believe that Blanchflower is a special place to work and we are looking for someone who is genuinely excited at the prospect of joining us.
We have a new 1300 sq ft bakery in a large stand-alone space above our Sale restaurant and we offer free lunch and excellent coffee. We are a family business and we are proud of our excellent record of staff retention with many team members having been with us for 8 years or more.
This shifts are 5am - 2pm / 6:30am-3:30am (approx) and weekend work is essential with Friday and Saturday being the busiest days. Some weekend days off are shared between the team every month.
A cover letter is essential, along with a CV, for all applications. Please tell us a little about yourself and why you think this role will suit you.
