JOB TITLE: PASTRY COMMIS

Job Summary
To assist the Pastry Chef in the daily preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and bakery items while maintaining quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, desserts, and other pastry products.
• Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
• Assist with mixing, baking, decorating, and plating.
• Ensure all products are prepared according to the required quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
• Properly store ingredients and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Assist with daily mise en place and pastry production.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist the Pastry Chef and other kitchen team members as required.

Requirements

• Previous pastry/bakery experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pastry preparation and baking.
• Willing to learn and develop pastry skills.
• Able to follow recipes, instructions, and standard procedures.
• Responsible, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
