Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Pastry Commis 1 to join our pastry team. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in pastry and bakery operations, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop professional culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie in daily pastry and bakery production.
• Prepare and assist with cakes, pastries, desserts, breads, creams, fillings, sauces, and other pastry products.
• Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, prepared, stored, and labeled.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.
• Support the team during buffet, à la carte, banquets, and special events.
• Operate pastry and bakery equipment safely and correctly.
• Minimize food wastage and maintain proper stock rotation using FIFO principles.
• Keep workstations, equipment, refrigerators, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Assist with receiving and checking pastry-related ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working as part of the pastry team.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or management.

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Bakery & Pastry Arts / Culinary Arts is preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in a, restaurant, bakery, café, or similar establishment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
