About the role

Tammys Bakery is seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Victoria Park, WA 6100, this role is central to our bakery operations, where you will craft exceptional pastries and baked goods that delight our customers daily. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked items whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, breads and desserts according to established recipes and quality standards
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality in all baked products
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofing cabinets and other specialised tools
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection
• Decorate and finish pastries and cakes with creativity and precision
• Maintain a clean and organised work station, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards
• Receive and check incoming ingredients for quality and freshness
• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production targets
• Follow all food handling procedures and comply with health and safety regulations
• Assist with stock rotation and inventory management as required

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in baking and pastry or equivalent hands-on experience in a commercial bakery environment
• Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker in a busy commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients and baking science
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing consistently high-quality products
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines
• Sound understanding of food safety standards and hygiene best practices
• Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality with a professional work ethic
• Experience with specialist pastry work such as laminated doughs, choux pastry or chocolate work would be advantageous
