about the role

as a Pastry Sous Chef at Zuma, you’ll take a leadership role in the pastry department, blending innovation and tradition to deliver exceptional quality while inspiring and developing your team.

what you'll do

• oversee food preparation to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and appearance, while minimizing waste
• support each pastry section to ensure service reflects Zuma’s creativity, flair, and precision
• estimate food consumption needs and plan orders for perishables and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels and smooth operations
• ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and uphold clear, sanitized, and safe work areas
• address guest and team member inquiries courteously, escalating issues to senior chefs or management as necessary
• train and mentor junior pastry chefs, conducting regular training sessions on techniques, recipes, and knife skills to foster growth and skill enhancement
