Patent Agent

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a highly regarded patent counseling firm seeking a Patent Agent to join its growing practice. This is a 100% remote opportunity open to candidates nationwide.

Position Details

• Location: 100% Remote – open to all U.S. time zones
• Salary: $120,000–$150,000+, depending on experience
• Experience: 2–6 years of patent prosecution experience
• Technical Background: Open to a variety of backgrounds, including Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Software, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, and related disciplines

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications for filing with the USPTO
• Prosecute U.S. patent applications and conduct Examiner interviews
• Work directly with inventors and attorneys to develop and refine claim strategies
• Independently manage a patent prosecution docket
• Support clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies
• Assist with additional patent counseling matters, including freedom-to-operate analyses, patent landscapes, due diligence, and noninfringement/invalidity opinions

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of patent prosecution experience
• USPTO registration
• Relevant technical or scientific degree
• Strong academic background; 3.0+ undergraduate GPA preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Strong client-service skills and a collaborative approach
