Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a professional and patient-focused Patient Access Representative to support patients throughout the registration and check-in process. This position handles patient information, appointments, insurance verification, and administrative tasks while providing a positive experience for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and efficiently.
• Verify demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Collect and update required patient information and documentation.
• Explain registration and financial procedures to patients.
• Process payments and provide appropriate receipts.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and registration data.
• Protect patient privacy and follow healthcare compliance requirements.
• Provide professional customer service in a busy medical environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous healthcare, medical office, registration, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers and electronic registration systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
