Patient Care Assistant (All Discipline)

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, responsible and patient-focused Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to join our clinical team. The successful candidates will provide essential patient care and support to patients across various clinical disciplines under the supervision of Registered Nurses and the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Assist with patient repositioning, transfers and ambulation as required.
• Provide basic patient care while maintaining patients' comfort, dignity and privacy.
• Assist Registered Nurses and healthcare professionals with routine patient care activities.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge-related activities.
• Prepare and maintain patient care equipment and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and orderliness of patient care areas.
• Support infection prevention and control practices.
• Observe patients and promptly report any changes in condition or concerns to the Registered Nurse/person in charge.
• Assist in transporting patients, specimens, equipment and documents when required.
• Communicate courteously and professionally with patients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety requirements and relevant procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager, Supervisor or person in charge.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent.
• Certificate/Diploma in Healthcare Assistance, Nursing Assistant, Caregiver or related healthcare qualification will be an advantage.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates/candidates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Compassionate, patient, responsible and service-oriented.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Physically fit and able to assist with patient mobility and related duties.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.
