Patient Care Coordinator

Location: New York City preferred, but open to Los Angeles

BeSound is a modern breast imaging company making breast health care easier to access, understand, and navigate.

We are looking for a warm, highly organized Patient Care Coordinator to support patients across BeSound. This is not simply a scheduling role. You will be a consistent point of contact for patients, helping them feel informed and supported from booking through any recommended next steps after their scan.

You will also help build and maintain a trusted network of hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers, breast specialists, biopsy providers, and physician offices across the country, so patients have a clear path forward when additional care is needed.

What you’ll do

• Communicate with patients daily by phone, text, and email, providing thoughtful, timely support throughout their BeSound experience
• Guide patients through booking, intake, results communication, and follow-up logistics
• Support patients when diagnostic imaging, biopsy, or other follow-up is recommended by helping coordinate the next step with their physician and chosen provider
• Help patients understand the difference between screening and diagnostic follow-up in a clear, calm, non-clinical way
• Speak fluently and confidently about BeSound, our patient experience, and what patients can expect at each stage of their care journey
• Collect and maintain referring physician information and ensure reports are routed to the patient’s PCP, OB-GYN, or other care team as appropriate
• Coordinate records and image requests among BeSound, patients, physician offices, imaging centers, and other providers
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with hospitals, breast centers, diagnostic imaging providers, biopsy providers, and physician offices
• Keep referral resources current so patients have reliable options for timely follow-up care
• Support the broader operations and clinical teams with scheduling, patient communication, documentation, and other evolving needs
• Identify patient experience gaps and help improve the care journey as BeSound grows
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient privacy at all times

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience in patient coordination, care navigation, medical scheduling, radiology, women’s health, or another healthcare-facing role
• Experience coordinating diagnostic imaging, referrals, records, or specialist follow-up strongly preferred
• Existing relationships with imaging centers, hospitals, breast specialists, biopsy providers, or physician offices is a plus
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to speak with patients during stressful or uncertain moments
• Highly organized, task-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
• Flexible, resourceful, and eager to step in where needed to support both patients and the team
• Strong judgment, follow-through, and a consistently calm, thoughtful presence
• Comfort working across multiple systems and managing a high volume of patient communication while maintaining a personal touch
• A patient-first mindset and respect for each patient’s choice of physician and care provider
• Comfort in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities and processes will continue to evolve

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
