Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating journey in the world of eye care? We are seeking passionate, eager to learn candidates to join our dynamic clinical team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician, you play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to our patients while working alongside leading ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Experience preferred, but we will train the right enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care Excellence: You will be the first friendly face patients interact with, gathering their stories and collecting their medical histories. You will perform preliminary eye exams, and conduct various diagnostic tests with precision and care. Your empathy and attention to detail will ensure each patient feels valued and supported throughout their visit.
  • Advanced Diagnostic Procedures: Get ready to dive into the cutting-edge world of eye diagnostics! You will utilize state-of-the-art equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, lensometry, and more (training provided). Your expertise will aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for a diverse range of eye conditions.
  • Instrument Maintenance and Calibration: You will be entrusted with the maintenance and calibration of ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Assisting in Specialized Procedures: Opportunities to provide support during specialized in-office procedures. Your steady hand and sharp focus will contribute to successful outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborative Team Player: As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, our clinical team, and administrative staff to deliver comprehensive care. Your effective communication skills and team spirit will foster a positive working environment and ensure smooth patient flow.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to empathize with patients
  • Attention to detail and keen observational skills
  • Prior experience in an ophthalmic setting is preferred but not required
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and techniques in the field
  • Comfort using a Windows computer, typing, talking on the phone, using Microsoft products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Someone who thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Competitive pay with opportunities for growth and advancement
  • Comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and more!
  • Continuing education opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in patients' vision and quality of life

What You Will Experience

  • 4pm Fridays! Year round, we end our Fridays at 4pm
  • Pizza days, Thanksgiving meal, Halloween Costume contest, Mini Tree Decorating contest, and other social and free food celebrations!
  • Annual $100 uniform allowance for approved colored scrubs
  • Clinic hours are 8am-5pm, Monday - Thursday, 8am-4pm on Friday. Clinical staff have staggered start and end times. Official start and end times of the position provided in the interview.
  • An environment with varying levels of noise, busyness, and patient count each day.
  • Active movement all day: is sitting at a desk all day boring? Don't worry, you will be moving around the clinic as you walk patients between testing and exam room, as well as standing and sitting throughout your tasks.
