Observation Unit-1W

🌟 As a Patient Care Technician you will work in a fast-paced, 30-bed short-stay Observation unit located adjacent to the Emergency Department and managed by hospitalists. Serving primarily patients admitted through the ED, the unit focuses on providing efficient, high-quality care with the goal of discharge or transfer within 24 hours, although some patients may remain longer based on placement needs and capacity. With approximately 17 admissions and 10 discharges each day, team members thrive in an environment characterized by constant patient movement and rapid turnover. Patient Care Technicians play a vital role by providing direct patient care, including vital signs, ADL assistance, and admission/discharge support, while also assisting with unit secretary responsibilities such as answering phones, greeting visitors, and supporting clerical workflows. Working closely alongside nurses in a highly collaborative team environment, this role is ideal for proactive, adaptable individuals who enjoy staying busy and delivering exceptional patient care. Nursing students, Medical Assistants, EMTs, and candidates who excel in dynamic, team-oriented settings may be especially well-suited for this opportunity.
