As a Patient Handling Trainer, you will assist in the implementation of the strategic L&D training plan by delivering high-quality training programs that support safe work practices and ensure compliance within a healthcare environment. You’ll play a vital role in improving patient and staff safety across Fiona Stanley Hospital.

As a Patient Handling Trainer, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Delivering and assessing training programs and competencies in patient handling and Aggression Prevention Intervention – API2
• Assisting in risk minimisation strategies related to patient handling tasks
• Completing safety observation assessments and competencies
• Maintaining training statistics and supporting LMS course management and participant resulting
• Ensuring training delivery meets Serco and WA Health quality standards
• Providing guidance using a risk management approach
• Contributing to continuous improvement and upholding HRMS values

• Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment
• Experience delivering and assessing patient handling or aggression prevention–related training
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer focus and ability to build effective relationships
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Ability to adapt quickly to new training processes and technologies
• Knowledge of WHS and ergonomic principles relevant to manual handling and aggression management
• Workplace First Aid certification including current CPR
• Bachelor qualification in human movement, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing or related field, or working towards this (desirable)
