Patient Service Representative

Workplace and Schedule

Position is located in a busy and expanding pulmonary practice in Encinitas, CA. Performs work from a central office working with patients, physicians, allied health providers and medical office staff. Work is typically performed during normal business hours.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet everyone professionally both in person and on the phone
• Check in and out patients
• Scheduling
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Answer phones / return voicemails
• Incoming and outgoing faxes and photocopies
• Maintain excellent relations with referring offices, patients, insurances, etc.
• Maintain clear documentation in patient’s charts
• Assist providers with all aspects of patient care
• Registration for new patients
• Ensure patients have follow up instructions

Qualifications and Experience

• One year medical office experience
• High School Education
• Self-directed, organized and problem solver
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Experience with EHR
• Experience with data entry and insurance verification
• Knowledge of medical terminology, referral procedures, and health insurance plans
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of a medical office setting and HIPAA requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
