Patient Services Team Lead

Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen for a person with General Practice Reception or Administration experience to join our friendly practice team as our Patient Services Team Lead.

The post holder will undertake a variety of duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice as part of our Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Operations Managers.

A caring and compassionate nature, along with a serious appreciation of confidentiality is required along with excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills. This is a face paced role requiring the ability to multitask and prioritise.

Applicants must be confident in dealing with patient demands under pressure.

Main duties of the job:

The post holder will oversee the Patient Services Team, ensuring that staff rotas are published and maintained to safe staffing levels.

Ensuring that the team facilitate patient clinical care invitations in a timely manner; that QOF, immunisation, cervical cytology, child and adult health screening appointments are booked in accordance with the schedules provide by our GPA .

Facilitation of effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, other associated healthcare agencies and the private sector.

Overseeing private non-NHS work requests and facilitating SAR requests, supported by the Operations Manager and Managing Partner.

The role will also offer frontline support to the Patient Services Team, providing back-up reception duties when required.

We are a small, friendly team of 33 staff working across two sites located just four miles apart.

The main practice is located in the beautiful rural village of Bow, just 10-15 minutes drive from our nearest towns Crediton & Okehampton, and 15 minutes from the A30. The practice in Bow is a purpose built facility, opened in 2012, with wonderful light and views.

Our branch surgery is based in a lovely old building in the traditional small town of North Tawton and has been recently refurbished.

Both locations have a relaxing staff rest area, a variety of teas and coffees are available free of charge and there is access to a shop and café for lunchtime treats.
