Patient Transporter

We’re looking for a Patient Transporter who will help people get where they need to go safely, on time, and with someone beside them who is calm and considerate.

This is an active role with regular contact with patients, nurses, and other care teams. You’ll learn the facility’s routes, transport equipment, and procedures as you settle in. What matters most is being dependable, listening carefully to instructions, and treating every patient with respect.

How you’ll help patients and the team

• Collect transport requests and confirm where each patient needs to go.
• Check patient identity using the facility’s procedures before each move.
• Escort patients between care areas, testing rooms, treatment spaces, and other locations.
• Use wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment according to your training.
• Check with the care team before moving a patient and pass along relevant instructions.
• Help patients feel informed by explaining where you are taking them and what happens next.
• Ask for assistance with transfers whenever the patient’s needs or safety procedures require it.
• Tell a nurse or appropriate colleague promptly if a patient appears uncomfortable or needs help.
• Update transport requests so colleagues know when a patient has arrived or a trip is delayed.
• Clean and return equipment in line with facility procedures so it is ready for the next patient.

The person we’d like to meet

You are comfortable speaking with people who may be tired, worried, or having a difficult day. You can keep moving through a busy shift without rushing a patient, and you communicate clearly when plans change.

You’ll also need to be comfortable spending much of your working day walking and moving transport equipment. Good teamwork matters: you’ll coordinate with nurses, clinical colleagues, and other transport staff throughout the shift.

You do not need to arrive knowing every route or piece of equipment. We’re looking for someone who pays attention, follows safety procedures, asks when unsure, and takes pride in helping people.

This is a full-time, on-site Patient Transporter position in Cincinnati. If you would enjoy a practical role where you meet people throughout the day and help their care run smoothly, apply with your current resume.
