Patient Transporter

Job Summary

Medical City Fort Worth is seeking a reliable and patient-focused Patient Transporter to assist with the safe movement of patients throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will treat patients with respect, follow hospital safety procedures, and work cooperatively with nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely between hospital rooms, diagnostic departments, treatment areas, and other designated locations.
• Assist patients with wheelchairs, stretchers, and other approved mobility equipment.
• Verify patient identification and follow established transportation procedures.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, family members, and hospital staff.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity throughout the transportation process.
• Clean and prepare transport equipment according to hospital infection-control guidelines.
• Respond promptly to transportation requests and communicate delays when necessary.
• Report safety concerns or noticeable changes in a patient's condition to appropriate clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required for the referenced position.
• Previous patient-care or hospital experience may be required, depending on the specific opening.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Physical ability to assist with patient transportation and operate mobility equipment safely.
• Dependable attendance and a professional, compassionate attitude.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
