Pattern Master – Haute Couture

The cut is where couture starts.

We're looking for a pattern master who can take a sketch, a photo or a client's idea and turn it into a pattern that fits perfectly the first time, or close to it. If you've spent years perfecting a sleeve head and still care about it, we should talk.

About Swag Store

Swag Store is a tailoring and couture house in Riyadh. We make bespoke pieces for private clients who expect the fit, finish and fabric to be exactly right. We're growing, and we need a senior pattern master to set the standard in our workshop.

What you'll own

• Drafting patterns from scratch for couture and bespoke pieces: eveningwear, bridal, occasionwear, abayas, kaftans and tailoring
• Draping on the stand for complex and structured designs
• Turning sketches and client references into first patterns and toiles
• Running fittings with clients and the design team, and correcting patterns until the fit is right
• Building and keeping a library of block patterns for repeat clients and core styles
• Setting pattern standards in the workshop and checking the work of cutters and tailors
• Training and developing junior pattern makers

Must have

• At least 15 years of pattern making experience, with a significant part in couture, bridal, eveningwear or luxury tailoring
• A degree in fashion design, pattern cutting or garment technology
• Expert flat pattern drafting and draping
• A deep understanding of fit, construction and luxury fabrics: silks, chiffon, lace, crepe, beaded and embellished fabrics
• The ability to read a sketch and make the right construction decisions without being told
• A portfolio or photos of work you have patterned

Strong advantage

• Experience with Saudi or GCC clients, especially occasion wear and abayas
• CAD pattern software (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex or CLO 3D)
• Experience leading or training a team
• Arabic language

The kind of person we're looking for

Precise, patient and proud of the work. You explain your decisions to tailors and clients clearly, and you can tell a client what's possible without saying no to everything. You care about getting it right more than getting it done fast, but you still meet deadlines.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
