Payments Officer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payments Officer to join Equicom Savings Bank, Inc. in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our payments operations and settlement processes. As a Payments Officer, you will be responsible for managing payment transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the smooth functioning of our payment systems. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and delivering excellent service to our customers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile payment transactions across various channels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Monitor payment flows and settlement activities to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain detailed records of all payment transactions and prepare regular reports for management
• Coordinate with internal departments and external payment partners to facilitate smooth transaction processing
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, payment system rules, and internal policies
• Troubleshoot payment-related issues and escalate complex matters to senior management
• Support the implementation and maintenance of payment systems and procedures
• Assist in audit and regulatory compliance activities related to payments operations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Banking related courses.
• Proven experience in payments processing, settlement operations, or a similar banking function
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, payment systems, and settlement procedures
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions accurately
• Proficiency in relevant banking software and systems
• Sound understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Professional communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying operational improvements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly
