Payments Operations Specialist

• As a Specialist, Payments Operations, you will help ensure money moves safely, accurately, and reliably across Justworks
• You are responsible for executing critical payment workflows, but your role goes beyond following a process. You understand the work you are doing, recognize when something doesn’t look right, and use the information and tools available to investigate issues and make thoughtful decisions. When a problem comes up, you take ownership and help see it through to resolution
• Execute critical payment operations accurately and on time across payment processing, funds movement, reconciliations, exceptions, and other payment workflows
• Investigate and resolve payment issues, using data, payments knowledge, and sound judgment to understand what happened, determine the right next step, and own issues through resolution
• Protect our customers and Justworks by following established controls, recognizing potential risks or unusual activity, and escalating issues when appropriate
• Help improve how Payments Operations works by identifying recurring problems, suggesting better ways of working, and providing feedback on processes, tools, and automation
• Use and adopt new tools and ways of working, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to improve accuracy and efficiency while sharing what you learn with the team

• Comfortable working with data and learning new systems and technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools
• 3+ years of experience in payments operations, banking, fintech, payroll, financial operations, or another detail-oriented operational environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time-sensitive work and collaborate effectively with others
• Familiarity with payment processing or money movement; experience with ACH, wires, RTP, or similar payment methods is a plus
