About the Role

Payments QA Manager – Interac Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Payments QA Manager with strong knowledge of Canadian payment systems and hands-on experience with Interac e-Transfer and/or Interac Debit. The candidate will lead QA strategy, test execution, automation, and release quality for payment applications and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy, test planning, execution, and delivery for payment platforms.
• Manage and mentor QA engineers and automation teams.
• Drive end-to-end testing of Interac payment flows, including transaction processing, authentication, reversals, failures, and reconciliation.
• Validate APIs, banking integrations, payment gateways, and backend transaction processing.
• Oversee functional, integration, regression, UAT, and performance testing.
• Drive test automation and CI/CD integration to improve testing efficiency.
• Ensure payment security, data integrity, and compliance with applicable Canadian payments requirements.
• Manage defects, assess release risks, and communicate QA status to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in QA/testing, preferably in banking, payments, or FinTech.
• 3+ years of QA leadership or management experience.
• Hands-on experience with Interac e-Transfer and/or Interac Debit testing.
• Strong understanding of payment transaction lifecycles, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Experience in API testing, SQL, test automation, and end-to-end integration testing.
• Familiarity with tools such as Postman, Selenium/Playwright, Jira, and JMeter.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Canadian banks, payment processors, or FinTech platforms.
• Knowledge of Payments Canada systems, ISO 20022, and payment certification processes.
• Experience with Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and production incident analysis.
