What they need
Platform & Delivery · Remote (U.S.) · Full-Time
Nulliti is a payments security company. We build tokenization and credential-binding infrastructure for card-not-present commerce — binding a cardholder's passkey directly to the payment instrument, so a transaction ties to a specific credential rather than to a session. The cryptography is patented and shipped, the platform is live, and we are boarding merchants.
THE ROLE
If you are a solutions engineer, integration engineer, or implementation consultant at a gateway, processor, acquirer, or payment facilitator, this is largely the job you already do — with the environment underneath it handed to you as well.
A processor or partner specification comes in. You work out what our platform has to do to satisfy it, write that up as user stories with acceptance criteria, hand them to the engineering team, test what comes back, accept or reject it, and release it into the AWS environment you also own. You write the integration documentation merchants work from, and you are on the technical calls with them.
The center of gravity is ownership. The platform is live and the environment is largely in place — you take it over, run it, and harden it, rather than starting from an empty account. You decide what gets built next, and nothing ships that you have not accepted. Hands-on coding ability is a real asset here and there is room to use it — automating the test suite, building internal tooling, prototyping against a new specification, and fixing things directly rather than waiting on someone else.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Payments delivery
Read processor, gateway, and partner specifications and determine what the platform has to do to satisfy them.
Write user stories with defined scope and testable acceptance criteria, including negative and error-path behavior. Own and sequence the backlog.
Act as the daily technical counterpart to the engineering team: sequencing, unblocking, challenging estimates by decomposition, and accepting or rejecting delivered work.
Own QA end to end: test plans tied to acceptance criteria, regression coverage, negative testing, and the defect record.
Own releases, change records, and a tested rollback path.
Write the integration documentation and onboarding checklists merchants and partners work from, and join technical calls with them.
Shape and build out the roles that sit beneath this one — QA, platform, and integration — and lead that team.
Platform
Own the AWS environment: architecture, networking, and databases, defined in Terraform rather than assembled by hand.
Take ownership of the existing footprint, reconcile what is running against what is in code, and complete and harden staging and production — including network segmentation of the environment that handles payment data.
Own CI/CD and deployments, IAM and least-privilege access, secrets management, TLS certificates, DNS, monitoring, centralized logging, alerting, and incident response.
Maintain runbooks for patching, certificate renewal, backup and recovery, and disaster-recovery testing, to a standard where routine execution can be handed off.
Reporting
- Deliver a weekly written progress report to company officers: what shipped, what slipped and why, what is blocked and who owns it, what is next.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Payments is the part we cannot teach you. The rest we can work with.
Required — payments
Direct experience on the merchant side of payments: gateway, processor, acquirer, PSP, ISO, or payment facilitator.
You have worked merchant integrations against a real processor or gateway specification, and can talk one through end to end.
Working command of the merchant-side model: authorization and settlement, tokenization and PAN handling, chargebacks and disputes, and what a merchant actually cares about when they board.
Required — delivery
You have written requirements that engineers built from, and can walk us through a story you wrote and the acceptance criteria attached to it.
You have managed delivery by an outside vendor, agency, or offshore team, including rejecting their work.
Hands-on QA capability: test planning, regression, negative testing, and defect management.
You have owned releases to production, including change records and rollback.
Required — platform
Production AWS experience you can defend in detail: VPC and network design, IAM, secrets management, and encryption in transit and at rest.
Infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform, managing live environments rather than one-off scripts.
CI/CD and deployment automation, monitoring and centralized logging, and incident response in practice.
You do not need to have been the sole owner of a large estate. You do need to be able to take ours over and run it end to end.
Also required
Technical enough to read a pull request, follow an architecture discussion, and recognize when an estimate does not hold up.
Clear written English. A meaningful share of this job is written requirements, written test evidence, integration documentation, a weekly officer report, and live merchant conversations.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Helpful, not required
PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or a comparably assessed environment.
Tokenization, network tokens, 3-D Secure, or passkey and FIDO work.
Hands-on coding. Test automation, internal tooling, prototypes, and direct fixes — the ability to write code yourself makes this role meaningfully easier to do well.
Experience owning a platform end to end rather than one slice of one.
IF YOUR TITLE TODAY IS
Solutions Engineer, Integration Engineer, Implementation Consultant or Manager, Technical Account Manager, Partner Solutions Engineer, Technical Product Owner, or Delivery Lead at a payments company — you are who we are looking for. The title on this posting is ours; the work is yours.
Full-time, W-2, remote within the United States, with overlap with U.S. business hours and availability for release and incident windows. Background check required for this role.
