Payments Specialist

For our client, we are seeking a Payments Specialist to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will support the organization’s payments operations by partnering closely with Commercial and Sales teams on deal structuring, merchant onboarding, and customer support. You will serve as a subject matter expert for payment processing, helping ensure smooth day-to-day execution, strong compliance practices, and an improved customer experience. The position also involves working cross-functionally with product teams to refine onboarding workflows and strengthen platform performance.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Act as a payments subject matter expert for Commercial and Sales teams in deal structuring and customer interactions
• Engage directly with merchants to resolve payment-related questions and issues
• Support internal teams in onboarding merchants to the payment platform
• Provide day-to-day support on payment processing and technical issues
• Monitor the managed payments platform for anomalies and compliance adherence
• Document and maintain SOPs for risk and onboarding processes
• Collaborate with product teams to enhance onboarding workflows

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of payments industry experience required
• Experience with merchant underwriting and KYC/KYB processes
• Knowledge of chargeback management and card network rules
• Strong customer communication skills for technical discussions
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with payment gateway operations
• Analytical ability to report on portfolio health and compliance metrics
• Experience with embedded payments solutions is highly desirable
