Payroll Accountant

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reconciliation activities related to payroll. This role will post payroll files from ADP into the general ledger, prepare and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts, and support benefit billing and reconciliation. The Payroll Accountant will work closely with Payroll, HR, and Accounting teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Post ADP payroll files into the general ledger.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts, including accrued payroll, benefits, taxes, and labor accruals.
• Manage benefit billing processes, including monthly invoice reconciliation and coordination with HR and vendors.
• Support monthly and quarterly close activities related to payroll and benefits.
• Assist with compliance and audit requests.
• Maintain payroll accounting policies and procedures.
• Partner with Payroll Manager and HR to ensure accurate payroll accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience; payroll or benefits experience preferred.
• Experience with ADP payroll systems and general ledger posting.
• Strong reconciliation experience and attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage timelines.
