Payroll Accountant

Position: Payroll Accountant

Location: Downtown, NYC (In-Office)

Salary: $60k – $70k

NYC based Savings Bank seeks a Payroll Accountant to join their Team!

Responsibilities

· Process bi-weekly payroll: Reviews timecards, rate changes, and process payroll. Ensures required signatures are obtained, completed and posted to GL. Updates and maintains payroll files and database to reflect personnel payroll changes.

· Calculates and maintains Loan Officers Commissions and process Branch incentives

· Assist employees, timekeepers and supervisors with system training, payroll issues, and request for payroll information.

· Research payroll issues/discrepancies, and processes necessary corrections. Comply with regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll.

· Prepares and files bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Imports and exports reports from the accounting and payroll computer programs for processing. Reconciles assigned accounts.

· Assist payroll related audits

· Prepare journal entries and reconciliations. Research discrepancies and makes necessary corrections as needed

· Prepare FRB and other cash accounts reconciliations

· Prepares investment and negotiable CDs accounting and reporting.

· Prepares investment and negotiable CDs transactions such as purchases, sales, payments, market value adjustments and the monthly investment portfolio reconciliation process.

· Assist in month end closing, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

· Assist internal & external audit and regulatory examination preparation.

Qualifications

· 3 years of Payroll Accounting experience

· Must have solid Excel knowledge.

· Paychex Desired
