We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Administrator on a part-time basis (25 hours a week) to support the smooth delivery of payroll services across our organisation.

In this role, you'll act as the key link between our employees, managers, People & Capability team, Finance team, and our external payroll provider. While payroll processing is managed by a specialist payroll service provider, you'll play an important role in ensuring payroll information is accurate, timely, and compliant.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with systems, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service in a people-focused environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinating payroll information and changes with our external payroll provider.
  • Reviewing payroll reports and identifying discrepancies before payrolls are finalised.
  • Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers.
  • Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.
  • Supporting payroll compliance, reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and employee experience.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in payroll administration, payroll coordination, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people.
  • Experience using HR or payroll systems.
  • Sound judgement when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to investigate issues, think critically, and find practical solutions.

What we'd love to see

  • Knowledge of New Zealand current and future payroll legislation and employment requirements.

Why join us?

You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where your contribution makes a real difference to employees across the organisation. We offer a positive working environment, opportunities to learn and grow, and the chance to help continuously improve our payroll and people processes.
