Payroll Administrator

Overview

St. Thomas Aquinas Roman (STAR) Catholic Schools is a dynamic urban and rural school division, serving over 5,000 students and nearly 500 staff across 12 schools in Beaumont, Drayton Valley, Leduc, Lacombe, Ponoka, and Wetaskiwin. We are seeking applicants for an additional full-time Payroll Administrator based at the division office in Leduc, Alberta commencing as soon as possible or a mutually agreed upon date. Reporting to the Finance Manager, duties include:

• Prepare, process, reconcile and distribute all employee group payrolls
• Prepare payroll related reports and forms as required
• Track vacation entitlements
• Process and report on Teacher and Support Pension Plans
• Prepare and distribute annual payroll reporting including balancing and preparing T4s
• Prepare necessary payroll accruals and monthly remittances
• Prepare Records of Employment
• Compile annual WCB reporting
• Other duties as required

Qualifications include:

• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is considered an asset.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in a Payroll Administrator Role

This is a Probationary Full-Time (Mon-Friday 8am - 4pm) position and will be situated at our Division Office. Employment is conditional upon the submission of a recent (within six months) Criminal Record Check, including the Vulnerable Sector Check, as well as a recent (within 6 months)Alberta Children's Intervention Record Check. Please note: Catholicity is not a requirement it is considered an asset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$73,400.00 per year
