What they need

About the Role We're looking for a Payroll Analyst who will support day-to-day payroll operations for the US and Canada — playing a hands-on role in processing, reconciliation, and compliance. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Payroll.

This role sits at the intersection of precision and partnership. In addition to supporting core payroll processing activities, the Payroll Analyst is a key contributor to enhancement projects, cross-functional collaboration, and the continuous improvement work that keeps our payroll operations audit-ready and scalable.  It is for the detail-obsessed payroll professional — someone who takes pride in accuracy, communicates clearly with employees and stakeholders alike, and is energized by building better processes.

Base salary range is $85,000 – $110,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Why Credo

  • Purpose: We invest in what matters. From meaningful, future-shaping projects to competitive compensation, we empower you to grow your career while making a lasting impact.
  • People: Connection starts within. We collaborate, celebrate wins, and create an environment where everyone can do their best work.
  • Possibilities: Our belief shapes what's next. As Global Payroll Operations moves to a more consolidated, globally aligned structure, this role has real influence over how payroll scales across new countries and processes.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive payroll processing experience, with demonstrated ownership of full-cycle payroll.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, used routinely for payroll reconciliation, audit, and reporting.
  • Maintain working knowledge of US payroll regulations (multi-state, FLSA, etc)
  • Complete payroll reconciliation checklists and support documentation practices that align with SOX and audit standards.
  • Familiarity with equity compensation payroll processing — RSUs, ESPP, or stock options — and related tax treatment.
  • Experience managing or contributing to a centralized payroll inquiry function, with clear and professional employee-facing communication skills.
  • Support special payroll projects as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, documentation-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Working knowledge of Canada payroll.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled payroll, reconciliation, or workflow automation tools.
  • Awareness of the Accounting Journal entry process.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end to end processing of bi-weekly US payroll for employees, including timekeeping population, and bi-weekly Canada payroll.
  • Prepare and coordinate US & Canada off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of US and Canada payroll regulations, tax withholding rules and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the data collection and reconciliation of all items that flow into payroll, including maintaining the support documentation.
  • Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as needed by various internal departments.
  • Support updating payroll procedures as processes change.
  • Sustain good recordkeeping practices and payroll file organization.
  • Partner closely to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and process alignment.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with a customer service approach - clear, timely communication.
  • Ability to learn and support new automation process flows and technologies.
  • Assist with special projects as necessary.
