Payroll and Billing Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll and Billing Specialist to join the accounting team at Business Trends Philippines. This is a full-time position based in Pasig City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing and billing operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation by overseeing timely and accurate compensation and invoicing processes.

What you'll be doing

• Processing employee payroll on a timely basis, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings in accordance with Philippine labor laws and regulations
• Preparing and issuing payslips and payroll reports to employees and management
• Managing billing processes, including invoice generation, account reconciliation, and payment tracking
• Maintaining accurate payroll and billing records, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational requirements
• Reconciling payroll and billing discrepancies, investigating variances, and implementing corrective measures
• Coordinating with Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll and billing operations
• Processing employee benefits, allowances, and deductions accurately and on schedule
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll and billing reports for management review
• Ensuring compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements and other relevant government agencies
• Supporting audits by providing documentation and explanations of payroll and billing transactions

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Proven experience of at least 2-3 years in payroll processing and billing operations
• Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance requirements
• Proficiency in payroll software and accounting systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications for data analysis and reporting
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of BIR regulations and compliance requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
• Preferred experience in billing cycle management and accounts receivable processes
