Critically, this role will be part of a team who successfully manage end-to-end payroll solutions, offering hosted payroll software as well as fully managed payroll and bureau services. Working alongside managers, and processors, you'll build the induction pathways, learning materials, and coaching support that keep the team current with legislation, software, and customer service standards. This role combines deep payroll expertise with a genuine passion for developing people, raising productivity and quality one skill at a time.

On a day-to-day basis, here's what you'll be doing:

  • Deliver induction and ongoing payroll training to new and existing bureau administrators, tailoring delivery to individual learning needs
  • Design and maintain training materials, guides, e-learning content, and process
  • documentation that stay accurate and easy to use
  • Work with our Regulatory Analyst to coach team members on payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, Statutory Payments, pensions, and RTI requirements
  • Assess training needs and identify skill gaps across payroll teams, translating findings into targeted learning plans
  • Support payroll system upgrades and deliver the associated training so the team is confident from day one
  • Monitor trainee performance and provide constructive feedback working with our Payroll Experience Managers to set clear development plans
  • Work closely with Payroll Experience Managers to support employee development and succession planning
  • Ensure all training content reflects current legislation and company procedures
  • Actively use AI to aid the creation of learning materials in different formats
  • Assist in quality assurance activities to identify recurring training requirements and root causes
  • Work with the people team to create learning materials and methodology that is consistent with the wider company standards
  • Facilitate knowledge assessments that lead to a training sign off process once each team member has developed skills to do the role effectively
  • Maintain training records and report on training effectiveness to demonstrate impact
