About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join the accounting team at Interactive Multi-Purpose Cooperative. This is a full-time position based in Makati City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation whilst maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This position is critical to our operations, as it directly impacts employee satisfaction and organisational compliance with labour laws and taxation requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations of wages, deductions, allowances, and benefits
• Prepare and maintain detailed payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
• Calculate and process statutory deductions including income tax, Social Security contributions, and other mandatory withholdings
• Reconcile payroll accounts and identify discrepancies, investigating and resolving any issues promptly
• Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management and relevant government agencies
• Ensure compliance with Philippine labour laws, tax regulations, and other legislative requirements related to payroll
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and payroll data
• Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure accuracy of employee information and compensation details
• Assist with benefits administration and employee-related inquiries regarding pay and deductions
• Support the audit process by providing necessary payroll documentation and records when required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience of at least 2-3 years in payroll processing or a similar accounting role
• Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll regulations, taxation requirements, and labour laws
• Proficiency with payroll software and accounting systems; experience with automated payroll platforms is highly desirable
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll databases
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Professional communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Discretion and integrity when handling confidential employee and financial information
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications or training in payroll administration would be advantageous
