Payroll Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and integrity. Duties

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported payroll platforms.
• Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and governmental reporting requirements related to payroll and employee compensation.
• Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
• Oversee the accurate calculation of payroll taxes, deductions, benefits contributions, and other financial components impacting employee pay.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while handling data entry tasks related to payroll processing and HR systems integration.
• Collaborate with HRIS teams to optimize time & attendance systems and other HR software for seamless payroll operations.
• Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and compliance audits to support financial analysis and decision-making.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll systems to identify discrepancies or errors in journal entries, debits & credits, or account reconciliation processes.
• Provide leadership in training staff on payroll system functionalities and updates to ensure operational excellence.

Experience

• Proven experience managing payroll within a corporate accounting environment with a strong understanding of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial tools.
• Extensive knowledge of payroll management processes including processing payrolls accurately across various platforms like Workday, ADP, Ceridian, etc., supported by technical expertise in supporting payroll systems.
• Deep familiarity with employment & labor law, tax law pertaining to payroll taxes, governmental accounting standards, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing large volumes of data entry related to payroll processing.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial concepts relevant to payroll accounting.
• Experience working with time & attendance systems and HRIS platforms such as Kronos or UltiPro is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping practices and technical accounting procedures.
